Merlara's Webcam is pointed out in the Top Ten of EarthCam!!

The Merlara Weather site aims at spreading the culture of meteoreology at local level. In this site, you can find weather data taken by my Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station, updated in real time, and MerlaraWebCam's snapshots. In the section "Articles", you can find some news and descriptions of the most interesting weather events in the last years.

In the photo you can see my Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station; in particular the central ISS that is connected to various sensors: anemometer, rain collector, temperature, humidity and solar radiation sensors. The ISS communicates with a console located inside my house and from this, through a special cable, I can download data to my computer and upload them to the network.
My Davis Vantage Pro 2 station is located in open country. It is positioned in compliance with the OMM guidelines. It is at 1.80 meters from ground and far away from obstacles. The nearest building is 80 meters in NE direction. The anemometer is placed at a height of 6 meters with a sturdy metal tube.

Some curiosity
Merlara is a small town with less than 3,000 inhabitants located in the far SW of the Padua's province, Italy. The climate is distincly continental, which means good thermal gap between summer and winter and low rainfall. We have a very special microclimate that leads to stagnant air and a lot of moisture: as a result we have misty days in winter and a lot of summer sultriness.
Precipitation is very low compared to neighboring areas of Veneto.
